Talented photographer Ganimat Pashazade shows life of indigenous nomadic people of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

In his instagram account, photographer-traveller told about unique customs of Nenets people and showed beauty of their unusual daily life for modern man.

Project purpose:
Ganimat Pashazade grew up on the North of Russia in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and from childhood he wrapped up in unique beauty of that region. For followers of his instagram account @ganimatque, the far north opens up with new sides, because Ganimat manages to capture specific aesthetics and show life of Northern cities as well as indigenous nomadic people of the region.

Shots of photographer are often dedicated to north sceneries: endless forests, mountains, snowy cities and flatlands. Besides, Ganimat manages to capture wild animals in its natural habitat and touching stray dogs in the cities. But author of the account thinks his main purpose is portraying life of Nenets – native people of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, living nomadic life.
“My purpose is to show, introduce life and household of our region, so everyone could know people of north and its native people – Nenets” – Ganimat comments on his project.

About nomads from the first person.

Author of instagram account visits nomads not only for spectacular photographs, he also studies household and customs of Nenets and if possible, helps them delivering products, warm clothes and household accessories, which nomads can’t afford. He notes that communications with Nenets inspires him, because despite all the differences from urban residents, they are very friendly, always ready to provide meal and drink to travellers.
Ganimat studies customs of nomads with passion and willingly participates in events. For example, recently photographer helped Nenets reach the city on main holiday celebration of indigenous people of North – Day of Reindeer herder.
